Daisy Girl Scouts is for Kindergarten and 1st Grade Girls. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday’s of the Month at OCBC in either the Social Hall or Rm. 5. This is the first level of Girl Scouting and the girls work on learning the Girl Scout Promise, the Girl Scout Laws, interacting with other girls, making friends, exploring new things and having fun! Activities include: Girl’s Day, a Princess Tea Party, Father/Daughter Dance, Hanamatsuri and Obon Festivals, Field trips, being Little Sisters to our older Cadette Girls Scouts, Selling Girl Scout Cookies, Girl Scout Sunday, Church Clean-up & Service Projects; like Collecting Pop Tops for the Ronald McDonald House. We have four mandatory events: Church Clean-up in Dec., Hanamatsuri Luncheon and Hanamatsuri Festival in April & Obon Festival in July.

The Daisies had a fun time at their Feb. 10th meeting earning their “Respect Myself & Others” Petal by having a Princess Tea Party. The 4th Grade Junior Scouts earned their Junior Aide patch by teaching them how to “Respect Others” by being polite and demonstrating good table manners. On October 28th the Daisies participated in the Investiture and Rededication Ceremony along with all the other Girl Scout Troops at OCBC. We had 13 new girls join our troop. The Daisy Troop has already earned two petals this year! By making ojuzus with colorful beads, they learned about what it means to “Respect Myself and Others” an important part of the Girl Scout Law.
