Ti-Sarana Rites

Congratulations to the students for participating in the Ti-Sarana Rites (Yodo Nyumon Shiki) at the Eitaikyo Service on November 20. The students who have solemnly pledged to learn and follow the Buddha Dharma to the best of their abilities are:

Each student received a certificate from the Bishop verifying his or her participation and an Okesa from the temple. Thank you to Harry Koike for taking pictures of the students with their families and ministers. Special thanks to the fourth grade teachers, Gail Kusano, Dorothy Matsuoka, and Nancy Shibata for preparing the students. New DS Teacher Assistant Welcome Kallie Ochiai who will be an assistant teacher in the 7th grade class!

Notepad Fundraiser

Are you wondering what kind of gift to give relatives and friends during the holiday season? The Dharma School has the perfect gift idea! Our Dharma School is selling notepads featuring sixty pages of original drawings with Buddhist thoughts created by OCBC DS students. Notepads can be purchased on Sundays in front of the hondo. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the 50th Anniversary Building Upon a Dream Project. Notepads may also be purchased using the enclosed order form. Please see the enclosed flyer in the Korin.

Ho-onko Service

Date: Jan. 15, 2012

Students who attend Ho-onko Service will receive attendance credit.

D.S. Class Schedule

D.S. classes will be held on the following dates: Dec. 4, 11, Jan, 8, 22, and 29. All classes begin immediately after service and end at 11:30 am.
