Oseibo

Thank you to Joyce Yada and Irene Yamanishi for ordering and preparing the oseibo gifts for the D.S. students.

All students received a blue sports bag.

Mochitsuki Lunch Prep

The DS staff was in charge of lunch prep for mochitsuki on December 18. The staff prepared a delicious lunch for the workers under the direction of Cheryl Higashi, Alison Yoshihara, Linda Nakauchi, and Nancy Shibata.

New Organist

Welcome Janet Sakahara to the team of organist who play for Sunday services. Janet also teaches in the third grade D.S. class.

Notepad Fundraiser

Notepads are still available for purchase. Our Dharma School is selling notepads featuring sixty pages of original drawings with Buddhist thoughts created by OCBC DS students. Notepads can be purchased on Sundays in front of the hondo. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the 50th Anniversary Building Upon a Dream Project. Notepads may also be purchased using the enclosed order form. Please see the enclosed flyer in the Korin.

Ho-onko Service

Date: Jan. 15, 2012

Students who attend Ho-onko service will receive attendance credit.

D.S. Class Schedule

D.S. classes will be held on the following dates: February 5, 12, 19, 26, March 4, 18, and 25. All classes begin immediately after service and end at 11:30am.

Correction

In the December 2011 Korin Newsletter, Ryan Grant was listed as one of the Ti-Sarana participants. The correct name is Trevor Grant who participated in the Ti-Sarana Rites.
