This course will be an introduction to Buddhism and Jodo Shinshu by looking at the lives of Shakyamuni Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, and Shinran Shonin, the founder of Jodo Shinshu. The class will look at not only the main events of their lives, but will focus on how they shared the Dharma with others. Registration $30.

This fall, the OCBC BEC program will offer a wonderful course on the Three Pure Land Sutras. Instructor Rev. John Iwohara, studied Shin Buddhism at the doctorate level at Ryukoku University. This survey course will touch on the main points and teachings of the three sutras that Shin Buddhism is based upon. This course will be an IBS branch affiliate course and students may take it for IBS credit.
