teachings of Buddha. Our Sangha (group) primarily focuses on Shin
Buddhism which is the teaching of Sakyamuni Buddha as it was handed
down through the religious understanding of Shinran Shonin

Sunday Meditation Service at the Orange County Buddhist Church, at 8:30AM - 9:30AM in the mini-chapel (next to the main sanctuary).

Wednesday Meditation Service at the Orange County Buddhist Church at 7:30PM - 9:00PM in the mini-chapel (next to the main sanctuary).

Irvine Meditation Service, 1st Wednesday each month from 7:30PM - 9:00PM. Please contact the office for the location.

The Meditation service consists of sitting meditation, walking meditation, sutra chanting, and a short Dharma message.
The meditation service begins promptly so please arrive early so that you do not disturb the session once it begins.
Wear comfortable loose clothing.
You may sit on the floor on a meditation cushion, or you may sit in a chair.
Previous experience in meditation is not required.

The temple business is managed by the Board of Directors. The Board President for 2010 and 2011 is Rumi Nakatani.
Temple membership is open to followers of the Jodo Shinshu teaching. Membership dues are thirty dollars per month for family membership and fifteen dollars per month for individual membership. Other necessary source of income are contributions for services, special donations, Konshi from special holiday services, and fund-raising activities.
